FAQ
What does the Calm Club Course cover?
The course is split up into 3 pillars:
- Sensory Integration
- Emotional Regulation
- Connection and Play
It’s split into 5-15 minute videos so it’s easy to watch and digest in busy family life. We dive into topics covering:
- Understanding your child’s sensory needs and preferences
- Making sense of regulation, dysregulation and the nervous system
- Understanding behaviour through a sensory and neuroaffirming lens
- Practical sensory strategies for everyday life
- Building connection, co-regulation and emotional safety
- Using play and movement to support regulation and development
- Adapting routines, activities and environments to better fit your child
- Recognising overwhelm and reducing unnecessary demands
- Supporting everyday challenges such as dressing, eating, sleep and transitions
- Building your confidence to understand why something is happening, not just what strategy to try next
Who is Calm Club for?
Calm Club is for parents or carers of neurodiverse children, from 2 years to teenagers.
What makes Calm Club different from any other online course?
Calm Club isn’t just an online course. It’s 6 months of OT support. A community. Specialist advice at the end of your fingertips and a reassuring port to call on when things feel overwhelming. We keep the community small to get to know you and your family.
But I want direct 1:1 therapy for my child.
Calm Club isn’t an eithe/or for direct therapy. In fact, Anna created Calm Club with the intention of it going alongside any therapy or without therapy. Often, the change doesn’t happen as a result of the once a week therapy session, it happens as a result of parents seeing what the OT was doing in session and replicating it at home when they understood why. Calm Club gives you the why to finally understand what all of the sensory jargon means. The level of information Anna wanted to share with families way outstripped what could be shared in 45 minute sessions when working directly with children, so she pulled out all of the key parts of her brain and put it into an online course for you! This saves time in sessions and makes therapy more successful and impactful.
My child already sees a member of Active Play Therapies and I’m interested in joining Calm Club.

I would like a 1:1 call with an OT.
Absolutely, you’re welcome to book additional video calls directly with OTs, subject to diary availability. You can book 3x 1:1 calls as part of your Calm Club package for an additional £500. Please email hello@activeplaytherapies.com to organise this.
